Places of interest


SAMSUNGThe locals swim at numerous points along the rivers that run through the country. Local councils have provided excellent amenities along the river so that there is plenty of choice. Amenities include sand beaches, grass areas, concrete platforms, changing rooms restaurants, bars, volleyball and tennis courts, football pitches as well as lots of places for cliff diving and enjoying various strengths of water current.

Rio Ceira – (10 minute walk) Wonder down to the river and swim through the cliffs in a tranquil setting that is rarely visited by locals or tourists. If you are feeling adventurous the water is deep enough for low level cliff diving.

Serpins Praia Fluvial – (5 minute drive) is the local river beach that was modernised in 2013 and comes complete with life guard and rope swing.

Góis Praia Fluvial – (20 minute drive) is a beautiful village with a lake running through it where you can explore the shops, take time out for a drink or meal or relax in the water.

Açude de Mega – (45 minutes drive) is a small river beach in the village of Mega Fundeira

Poço Corga Praia Fluvial– (45 Minute drive) is relatively far away but offers beautiful views as well as a café bar.

Praia das Rocas – (40 Minute drive) is a large open air swimming pool/leisure complex with wave machine fed by the warm waters of the Ribeira de Pera.

Casa Gaia is located in the centre of Portugal between Lisbon and Porto. The closest city is Coimbra. Close towns/villages are Serpins, Góis, Lousã.
